Claire is a friendly and happy girl. She’s a first grader and a bit too perfectionist: she thinks that making mistakes means failing and she doesn’t want to see her teacher’s red Xs on her tests, she’s scared of them. So she begins to feel bad, till one day her tummy starts hurting so much. ‘What if the naughty Red Xs Monster is growling in my tummy?’ thinks Claire all scared. That night, while Claire is asleep, a special friend comes to the rescue to help her overcome her fear: it’s Edward the little magic star! Chiara Sandri was born in Italy in 1981. She lived in Italy for thirty-five years and in 2017 she moved two the United States, where now she lives with her husband and their kids. She’s a pharmacist and writing and drawing have always been her passions since she was a teenager. After participating in several literary competitions as a young writer, she decided to realize her secret dream: writing and illustrating children’s books.
