CLAIRE KEEGAN nació en 1968 en County Wicklow, Irlanda. Estudió literatura y ciencias políticas en la Universidad Loyola, en Nueva Orleáns, Estados Unidos, y realizó una maestría en escritura creativa en la Universidad de Gales, Cardiff. Antártida (1999, Eterna Cadencia 2009), su primera colección de relatos, fue nombrado Libro del Año por Los Angeles Times y premiado con el William Trevor Prize y el Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. Recorre los campos azules (Eterna Cadencia, 2008) ganó el Edge Hill Prize al mejor libro de cuentos publicado en las Islas Británicas en 2007 y con la nouvelle Tres luces (Eterna Cadencia, 2010) obtuvo el Davy Byrnes Award. Los tres libros fueron publicados con traducción de Jorge Fondebrider.
En la actualidad vive en County Wexford, Irlanda.
