That is because dance has the unique ability to unite a person’s mind, body, and soul. In his capacity as a touring bassist, Jimi Calhoun witnessed thousands upon thousands of people lose themselves in dance. Suddenly, ethnic, racial, and religious differences disappear. Borders, on the other hand, divide religious communities, races, and nations. Human conflict is perpetuated by these boundaries. Jimi Calhoun is an author, minister, and musician. He is a pastor at Bridging Austin, A Reconciling Community in Austin, Texas. He is the author of A Story of Rhythm and Grace, (2018), The Art of God (2015), and The Sounds of Love and Grace (2020). He is an internationally known recording artist as a member of Rare Earth, Dr. John, The Buddy Miles Regiment, and Funkadelic. He sits on the boards of three non-profit organizations.
