Rebecca is a fictional preteen Christian girl growing up in a small town in the 1950’s who talks to God on a daily basis. She has a prayer diary in which she shares with God her feelings about her life and family and her daily joys and struggles. She reminds herself of bible verses that relate to her situation and thanks God for the answers to her prayers.

Laraine Birnie is a retired Ph D clinical psychologist who has written two previous books, “Counselling the Abused Christian Woman” for lay counsellors and “The Adventures of A, B, and C “, a children’s early reader book. She is the mother of two daughters, Sarah and Carolyn (both psychologists) and five grandchildren (Owen, Miles, Mira, Nathan and Noelle). She has taught university, lectured at a Divinity school, and been a consultant to various Christian ministries. She lives in Ottawa where she co-leads a women’s bible study and provides Christian counselling to emotionally abused women. Additional information is found on her website at drlarainebirnie.ca
