Blind Revenge — opens with Jim, now happily remarried, determined to catch the serial killer who is killing single men and women, but he is distracted by a missing persons case. It is the younger brother of his lifelong friend. Finding the brother — not in time — Jim uncovers a strange event that happened in the desert around Death Valley just after Pearl Harbor — three soldiers have been found in a Jeep, deep in a cavern, basically mummified by the desert air.
Jim now has his hands full. Peeling back the onion of time, he discovers these men were part of a mass murder of Japanese men and boys. Jim gets to the bottom of it and makes arrests just as the serial murderer shows up in Inyo County. As Cobb closes in on him and his girlfriend and accomplice, they kill each other. Case solved.
Jim gets one of the participants in the mass murder to talk and discovers it is the beginning, not the end; the man behind the plot to kill the Japanese has disappeared.
