Nicholas Jubber, Jahrgang 1977, lebte nach seinem Studium an der Oxford University mehrere Jahre in Jerusalem. Als 2000 die zweite Intifada ausbrach, reiste er durch den Mittleren Osten und Ostafrika und berichtete von dort für The Guardian, The Observer, BBC Radio 4 sowie den amerikanischen Radiosender NPR. Jubber ist Gewinner des Dolman Best Travel Book Award, des renommiertesten Preises für Reiseschriftsteller in Großbritannien.Sein erstes ins Deutsche übersetze Buch «Die acht Lektionen der Wüste» erschien 2017 ebenfalls im Du Mont Reiseverlag.
