Hope is a nine-year-old girl who dreams of exploring the world outside on her own. Her parents feel she is too young and convince her to wait until she is just a little older. Hope, of course, feels otherwise and is unable to wait for permission. What will Hope discover on her first independent walk in the woods?
She finds more than she could have ever imagined. Learning to stop, look and listen can open up a magical world with wonderful life lessons.

She has a degree in the Environmental field and finds it not only cathartic but necessary to spend time out in the woods and on the beach. She is self-confessed nemophist and thalassophile as well as a bibliophile. Her freshman story is about a young girl with an imagination who shares the author’s love of nature.
