This book adopts the methods of field investigation and case study, systematically summarizes the development course of Nanjiang County in Sichuan Province since China’s reform and opening-up, and comprehensively sorts out its main experiences of promoting green development and rural governance. Main research directions: political development in contemporary China, democratic governance, and the theory of democracy and democratization. Zhang Jun, Ph.D. in politics, Associate Professor at the Institute of Political Science, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His main research areas are democratic theory and political party research. His major publication is The Politics of Selection by Western Political Parties (2019). In recent years, he has published more than 10 academic papers independently and won many awards such as the second prize of excellent information award of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Sun Ying, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at the Institute of Political Science, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. She is mainly engaged in local government and grassroots governance research. She has published more than 10 academic papers in journals. She is also a Part-time Researcher of Shanghai Academy.
