W. J. Vermeer holds degrees in mathematics and physics from Auckland University and a Ph D in physics from the Australian National University. After working in physics research at Oxford and Manchester Universities, he changed careers to work in software development. In 1983, he became a Spirit-filled Christian and started to study the Bible.
