Simon Mitchell worked as a computer programmer before deciding to branch out and “try writing in a language that consisted of more than 1″s and 0″s”. He has completed a Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT, where he wrote the first draft of The Baked Bean Bandit, and was selected in 2008 to be the recipient of a May Gibbs Literature Trust mentorship. The Baked Bean Bandit was his first work of junior fiction, and he is also the author of a picture book to be published in 2010. Simon lives in Melbourne and you can see his work on his website: www.simonmitchell.com.au
