Judith Fessehaie is a senior associate at the Centre for Competition, Regulation and Economic Development and a senior lecturer at the African Institute for Economic Development and planning Afeikhena Jerome is Professor Economics at Igbinedion University in Okada, Nigeria and a consultant for the Food and Agriculture Organisation Subregional Office of Eastern Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Blessing Karumbidza is an economic historian and development sociologist with a Ph.D. in economic history and development sociology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. David Maimela holds an honours degree in international relations and a political science degree from the University of Pretoria. Ralph Mathekga was the overall supervisor of this project. He holds a master”s in political science from Wits University and is currently studying towards his Ph.D. in political science at the New School for Social Research. Thembani Mbadlanyana works as a researcher in the parliament of South Africa. He holds the Master of Public Affairs degree from the Institut d”Etudes Politiques de Paris, also known as Sciences-Po. Philani Mthembu is Executive Director at the Institute for Global Dialogue and co-founder of the Berlin Forum on Global Politics, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of academic, expert and public understanding of global politics. Christopher Nshimbi is a research fellow at the Department of Science and Technology-National Research Foundation (DST-NRF) and Deputy Director of the Centre for the STudy of Governance Innocagtions (GovInn), Department of Political Sciences, University of Pretoria. Lebohang Liepollo Pheko is the senior research fellow at the Research and Policy Advocacy Think Tank Collective and has taught international trade and African feminism at the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute where she is a founding faculty member and associate. The Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA), was publicly launched as a think tank in March 2011, was founded by a group of South Africans with experience in research, academia, policymaking and governance who saw the need to create a platform for engagement around strategic issues facing South Africa. MISTRA combines research and academic development, strategic reflections and intellectual discourse, and applies itself to issues such as economics, sociology, governance, history, arts and culture, and the logics of the natural sciences. Rawia Tawfik is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University. She obtained a Ph.D. in politics from Cairo University. Betchani Tchereni is Associate Professor of Economics at North-West University.
