This edited volume examines the contemporary practice of human trafficking on the African continent. It investigates the scourge of human trafficking in Africa from the broader international and regional perspectives as well as from a country-specific context. Written by a multi-disciplinary panel of academics and practitioners, the book is divided into three sections that highlight a wide range of issues. 

Section One examines the theoretical and legal challenges of trafficking. Section Two focuses on the regional and nation-state perspectives of human trafficking along with selected cases of trafficking. Section Three highlights the impact of trafficking on youth, with specific attention given to child soldiering and female victims of trafficking.

Om författaren

Alecia Dionne Hoffman is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Alabama State University, US, where she teaches courses in international politics, political science seminar, and American politics. She received her Ph D from Clark Atlanta University in political science with concentrations in African, international, comparative, and American politics. Her specialties are African politics, international politics and development, Sino-African relations, and American politics. 
Sabella Ogbobode Abidde is a Professor of Political Science and member of the graduate faculty at Alabama State University, US, where he teaches courses in comparative politics, international relations, African politics and institutions, senior seminar classes, and the politics of developing nations. He received his Ph D from Howard University in African politics, world affairs, public policy and development studies. He is a multidisciplinary scholar with regional focus on Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
