The eponymous heroine of this 1910 novel leaves her overbearing husband and embarks on a quest to find love with a compatible partner. Said the
New York Times: ’Mr. Hope has handled the subject delicately and convincingly, and makes plain the fact that men and women must conform to the majority opinion, right or wrong, or pay the penalty.’
