The main thrust of this book is to acknowledge the technologies that the Bell-aerospace-company developed or refined. If certain programs incorporated technologies that were basically the same as other programs, then these same technology programs were not included in detail.

Dr. Cenkner earned a B.A. degree in Computer Science and a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering, along with M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in Engineering Science. He was involved in industrial research and development for forty years, with most of this time being spent in the aerospace industry. He was an ad hoc faculty member, in the School of Engineering at the University of Buffalo, for eleven years — where he taught thirty-two engineering courses. He worked for Bell Aerospace Textron for five years in the High Energy Laser Department. He was responsible for the operation of the supersonic research facility at Bell, Section 5.4.3, where he conducted extensive research on the simulated mixing of supersonic reactants in the laser cavity; the results were published in the openliterature. In addition, he conducted laser cavity diagnostics during live firing of high energy lasers. He has twenty-one research publiations in the open literature.
