Carl Sandburg (1878-1967) was a landmark modern American poet, writer, and editor. He won three Pulitzer Prizes for Literature: two for his collection of poems and one for his biography of Abraham Lincoln. During his lifetime, Sandburg was widely regarded as "a major figure in contemporary literature", especially for volumes of his collected verse, including Chicago Poems (1916), Cornhuskers (1918), and Smoke and Steel (1920). This collection of poems selects 206 poems from all the works created by Sandburg in his life, including most of the representative works of the poet, and fills the gap in translation and introduction of Sandburg’s works in domestic publishing circles for more than 30 years.
