Dave and his family have been traveling and trying out recipes from all over the country for years. He has cooked in many restaurants, as do other members of his family who contributed to Baseball Kitchen.
He has been baseball fan since he was a Little League player. His mother says that it started at birth. She is a wonderful cook and passed that love of cooking to Dave at a young age. He has always been interested in the way foods and flavors combine to make a wonderful meal.
Dave loves baseball theme nights when the family cooks food from the area of the country where the team is located. This idea became the central idea for the Baseball Kitchen Cookbook.
Dave lives with his wife, Madalon, on a ranch in southern Utah, not far from Zion National Park. He is a retired educator. He has also worked as a park ranger naturalist and a farmer. His three daughters and their families all live nearby.
