David Yellin (1864–1941) was the author of a number of textbooks on Hebrew grammar and language. He translated between Arabic and European languages. A professor of Hebrew poetry, Yellin helped to found and organize the first Teachers’ Association in 1903, eventually becoming its president. An open Zionist, he served as a deputy mayor of Jerusalem.
