Dorothy L. Sayers was a renowned English crime writer, playwright, theologian and translator. In the history of reasoning fiction, Sayers is a great name: she, Agatha Christie and Josephine Tey are known as "Three Heroines of Reasoning"; she is also the only great writer with five works selected to the list of Top 100 most prestigious reasoning fictions in the UK and the US. Gaudy Night tells the story of Harriet Vane who returned to her alma mater to attend the Gaudy dinner. However, many strange things happened around her one after another, so she had to postpone her return date to investigate the case. Soon she was involved in a cruel persecution against female intellectuals. Reluctantly, Harriet had to join hands with her old acquaintance, detective Lord Wimsey, to investigate the case together.
