Författare: Edward Eggleston

Born in the early days of the United States’ history, Edward Eggleston grew up in Vevay, Indiana. During the Civil War, he became disillusioned toward America’s claims of liberty and was opposed to slavery. By the time he was in his thirties, he had moved to New York and was writing novels like The Hoosier Schoolmaster and The Circuit Ryder. Always interested in history, he became president of the American Historical Association in 1900. He died in 1902.
