Om författaren

Gerardo Bartolomé, born in Buenos Aires in 1962, led a six-day expedition in 2003, navigating the Santa Cruz River in Patagonia to recreate Darwin and Fitz Roy's 1834 journey. This inspired his first historical novel, La traición de Darwin (2005), exploring Darwin's theory of evolution. For his research, Bartolomé visited key Darwin sites, including Punta Alta (Argentina), Galápagos (Ecuador), Chiloé (Chile), and the Uspallata Pass in the Andes.

In 2007, he co-authored Patagonia through the Eyes of Darwin, a visual book detailing Patagonia's geology, flora, fauna, and history. He later published El límite de las mentiras (2008), a novel about explorer Perito Moreno. In 2010, La traición de Darwin was translated into English and French and released as an e-book. That same year, he published Patagonia a sangre fría, a short story collection. In 2022, Bartolomé began writing guidebooks on Patagonia, Antarctica, and Buenos Aires, drawing on his extensive knowledge of Argentina.
