Moby Dick is a novel by Herman Melville (1819-1891) published in 1851. It narrates the adventures of the protagonist Ishmael shipment on a whaling ship, the Pequod, in pursuit of mythical ’white whale’. The story deals with Captain Ahab obessed with revenge against Moby Dick that in a previous hunting trip had torn his leg and had destroyed his ship.
