Desperate to lose weight as fast as possible, Jeremy White set a goal early in 2011 to visit and hike in all National Parks in the 48 contiguous states in the USA before 2014 ended and lose 48 pounds by doing that. Ads show many other ways to lose weight, but White wanted to learn more about his nation and nature and set a weight loss goal that was motivating. Other ways to weight loss may be better or worse, but Jeremy soon learned few of those have any risk of bear attacks, getting stuck in mud, or falling off a mountain.
Did White lose any weight by doing this? Did a disaster in a park end his goal instead? This is the book you can read to find out.
Om författaren
Jeremy White used his chemical engineering degree obtained in Rolla, Missouri to develop packaging for Pepsi Co products…mostly Gatorade…for 19 years. You can find his name on the patent for a squeezable beverage bottle and several others. He played a trivia game called quiz bowl for over 20 years and was on a national championship-winning team in a tournament on popular culture trivia four different times.White wrote this memoir on four years of traveling to National Parks both to learn and lose weight just for fun in 2016 while between jobs. No publishers wanted it, so it was soon shelved. A severe accident in 2018 caused Jeremy to have a traumatic brain injury. His life has been damaged in many ways since then, but he was finally better enough that he decided to give self-publishing this earlier memoir a try with a brief added epilogue on his accident.
