This translation presents Daoism’s basic text in highly readable contemporary English. Incorporating the latest scholarship in the field (including the most recent discoveries of ancient manuscripts in the 1970s and ’90s), the book explains Daodejing’s often cryptic verses in a clear and concise way. Hans-Georg Moeller is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Brock University in Ontario, Canada.He is an expert on Chinese and comparative philosophy and author of ten books and numerous articles.A native of Germany, he has also lived in China, the U. S., and Canada.In 1995 he was awarded the Straniak Philosophy Prize.
