Susanne Dahmann studierte Geschichte, Skandinavistik und Philosophie an den Universitäten Kiel und Freiburg im Breisgau. Nach dem Magisterexamen war sie in einem Stuttgarter Sachbuchverlag tätig. Seit 1993 übersetzt sie Bücher, hauptsächlich aus dem Schwedischen, aber auch aus dem Dänischen. Ihr Arbeitsbereich umfasst sowohl Belletristik als auch Sachbuch. Sie übersetzte unter anderem Henrik Berggrens Bücher über Olof Palme und Dag Hammarskjöld, sowie Lena Einhorns »Ninas Reise« und für das Fritz Bauer Institut in Frankfurt die schwedischen und dänischen Texte von Fritz Bauer. Susanne Dahmann lebt in Marbach am Neckar, wo sie zusammen mit anderen Kolleginnen ein Literaturbüro für Lektorat, Übersetzung und Kulturprojekte betreibt.
