In the study of Song Dynasty literature and history, the theme of party strife has attracted much attention. Most of the research results on the Northern Song Dynasty’s party strife are based on the handed down historical works and poetry collections, with less use of stone inscriptions. This book, under the background of the party strife perspective, conducts a processual and comprehensive study on the generation, spread, and influence of stone inscriptions from a multi-disciplinary and multi-perspective approach. This observation of stone inscriptions aims to expand and deepen the related research of stone inscriptions and party strife. At the same time, by reflecting on the party strife in the middle and late Northern Song Dynasty, it provides a more comprehensive understanding of this political activity that affected various aspects of the Northern Song Dynasty, including politics, economy, and culture.
