Philippe Guillaume was born a few hundred meters off the Forbidden City in Pekin, or Beijing as written today. Third generation of diplomats, he was posted in Kingston, Santo Domingo, Bonn, Warsaw, Paris, Tehran and back to Brussels at the ministry for Foreign Affairs.
While lecturing at the university in Belgium, he wrote his fascinating life as a diplomat. He is now retired in Portugal.
