Prof. H. S. Sharma (b. 1945) holds post-graduate and doctoral degrees in Geography from the University of Saugar, Madhya Pradesh. Prof. Sharma is a former Professor and Head, Department of Geography, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Ho is also a former Director of the !. .Jira Gandhi Centre for Human Ecology, Environment and Population Studies (HEEPS), Academic Staff College and Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Rajasthan. Prof. Sharma has over 100 research papers in National and International journals like Nature and 16 books to his credit. He has supervised more than three dozen Ph.D.s. He has attended and chaired various technical sessions in International Conferences and Exchange Programmes. He has been President of IIG, IGI and NAGI. He is also a President of the Commonwealth Human Ecology Council (India Chapter). Recently, he has been awarded Senior Fellowship by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi to work on Climate Change and its Impact on Land and Water Resources of Rajasthan.
