Extensive travels to gather material for outdoor magazine articles, has led the author and his wife Donna, both Christians, into many church services conducted by various denominations. But all too often liberal sermons implying that a “believer’s” future sins have no bearing upon their salvation, has left the author with deep concern.
During these lengthy tavels, the author has encountered far too many professing Christians who seemingly give little thought as to how they live their daily lives, and are possibly heading down that primrose path to hell. This book was written in the hope that it can help each reader more honestly determine his or her true standing with Christ.
Om författaren
For most of his adult life Richard Owen has written, as an avocation, articles about fly-fishing, bird hunting and clay target shooting, for a number of outdoor publications. One of these pieces, describing the youthful outdoor adventures of his two grandsons (both past National League All-Stars), won a 2008 first place award for ’Best Magazine Sports Story, ’ by the Society of Professional Journalists.
After retirement from his real job, this fulfilling pastime became a full-time lifestyle, and for many years Richard and his wife Donna, have traveled extensively in search of material for these secular writings. Not only have their sports writing led them through all 50 states, but one magazine has sent them into several foreign countries to report to its readers about shot gunning opportunities in exotic settings.
Along the way as born again Christians, these two nomads have attended worship services far and wide, with little concern for the denomination of the churches visited. But all too often liberal sermons have seemed, to the author, to lead to a belief that professing Christians were free to continue in deliberate sin, and still go to Heaven. And observed during his travels, this permissive message seems to have registered with many ’believers’, who no longer even attend church.
This erroneous theology, derived from the emphasis of a few Biblical verses, has become a matter of deep concern to the author, leading to the writing of this book
