His many books include Orality and Literacy, Rhetoric, Romance, and Technology; Interfaces of the Word; and Fighting for Life, the latter three from Cornell. Thomas D. Zlatic is Professor of Literature at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Sara van den Berg is Professor of English and was Director of the Ong Center for Language, Culture, and Media Studies, Saint Louis University.
