It’s the fusion of the enthusiasm and energy of a couple made in Hong-Kong. – He’s from Edinburgh and Susanna is a fourth-generation Hong Konger…rather rare. – They met in the ’70s when both were inspectors of police. When an opportunity for joint leisure time presented itself, the couple entrained for Beijing, basing themselves in son Jack’s flat. And from there they set off, by train mostly, and a bit of boat, armed with camera and notebook, to view as many wonders of China as they possibly could in five months. It is sprinkled with good humour and light commentary on the characters Stuart and Susanna met along the way.
