BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) is the established standard for business process modeling. Only a few years after its first publication, it has gained widespread adoption in practice. Thomas Allweyer is a professor for business modeling at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern, Germany. Furthermore, he works as a consultant and trainer for well-known companies. He regularly holds seminars on business process management and BPMN. He has published many papers and several books, among them an introduction to business process management systems (BPMS).
