Sylvia Lane was born in 1932 in the small highly Norwegian community of Antelope Montana. During World War ll both parents traveled and worked to support the war efforts, leaving Sylvia to stay with her grandmother and three siblings on a small ranch in House New Mexico where she first started creating stories about the very funny antics of the critters who lived on the ranch.
She devoted 32 years as a teacher to countless young readers. She understands the power of words and the magic of an engaging story told with dynamic illustrations. As a prolific artist, she spent many hours toiling to perfect her illustrations-ensuring that her drawings could carry the story without text.
Many of her stories were born from her love of gardening, raising animals and watching the antics of her five children, five grandchildren and newer adventures of her 5 great-grand children.
