A CITY’S SOUL HANGS IN THE BALANCE AS A KILLER’S WRATH IS UNLEASHED
Kansas City – 1893
On the cusp of the 20th century, as Kansas City transforms from a lawless frontier boomtown into a burgeoning metropolis called the ‘Paris of the Plains’, the city’s future hangs in the balance. A ruthless killer stalks the streets taking revenge against the mayor’s temperance crusade to rid the town of poverty, pollution, and promiscuity.
With the city’s reputation on the line, Inquiry Agent Algernon Crisp is thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse. In a race against time to catch a brutal killer who prowls the shadowy, vice-ridden underworld of Kansas City’s notorious West Bottoms, Crisp must navigate a treacherous web of political corruption and outsmart Big City Boss Jim Pendergast and his cronies who rule the district through brute force and calculated deception.
The stakes couldn’t be higher-will Crisp bring justice, or will he be lost in the city’s shadowy maze of crime and betrayal.
Filled with rich historical details, colorful and engaging characters, and thrilling moments of suspense, Shadow Beneath the Bluffs is an exquisitely crafted mystery for the ages; perfect for the fans of Sherlock Holmes and the works of Caleb Carr and Erik Larson.
