Johannes Zeilinger, geb. 1948 in Wolfratshausen, hat Medizin in Würzburg und Berlin studiert, wo er seit 1983 als Sportmediziner tätig ist. Er ist Vorsitzender der Karl-May-Gesellschaft, Ausstellungskurator und Verfasser mehrere Bücher zur Karl-May-Forschung, einer Biografie der Schauspielerin Lya de Putti und eines Buchs über Cypern.
