Hans-Christian Oeser, 1950 in Wiesbaden geboren, lebt in Dublin und Berlin und arbeitet als Literaturübersetzer, Herausgeber und Autor. Er hat u.a. John Mc Gahern, Mark Twain, Ian Mc Ewan, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Anne Enright, Maeve Brennan und Sebastian Barry übersetzt. Für sein Lebenswerk wurde er 2010 mit dem Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt-Preis ausgezeichnet.
