An intense ‘;missing’ tale from the beginning of the Star Trek movie era, when the crew of the U.S.S. Following the events of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the reunited crew of the Starship Enterprise revisits a loose end from their earlier adventures: the resettlement of refugee colonists from a destroyed planet, whose lives have depended so long on the godlike artificial intelligence that guided them through space, they ability to survive without it is now in doubt. At the same time, Kirk, Spock, and Mc Coy, back together now after almost three years, must relearn how to work together in a story that examines this iconic relationship as never before.
