PD Dr. Markus Rüther studierte unter anderem in Münster, Oxford und Harvard. Er arbeitet als permanent researcher am Forschungszentrum Jülich und als Privatdozent am philosophischen Seminar der Universität Bonn zum Gesamtbereich der Ethik. Von ihm sind bisher mehr als 50 Beiträge in internationalen Zeitschriften erschienen. Er ist zudem Herausgeber der Zeitschrift für Ethik und Moralphilosophie. Im Jahre 2016 erhielt er den Jahrespreis für Philosophie und Ethik von der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie, Psychosomatik und Nervenheilkunde (DGPPN).
