John Carter of Mars: Volume 3 covers the final five books of the popular science fiction series. Once again John Carter, an earthling who was mysteriously transported to Mars where he discovers the lower gravity gives him great powers, is caught up in a war on his adoptive planet. In addition to Carter the books also introduce new characters like the poor padwar Hastor, who is in search of his kidnapped love Sonoma Tora and the personal guard of Carter, Vor Dai, who must defeat the evil Master Mind of Mars Ras Thavas. Finally a series of stories focusing on Carters granddaughter, Llana of Gathol, round out the exciting series that was foundational to the science fiction genre.
