This book provides a comprehensive overview of family education policy development in China. Each chapter draws upon existing literature, reviews the policy text and implementation data, identifies the challenges of and problems in the policy implementation process, and proposes corresponding countermeasures and solutions. It examines a wide range of education policies in China, including the management policy of family education organization, family education resource allocation policy, family education guidance service policy, the educational policy on the parent-school cooperation, school support-based family education policy, community support-based family education policy, family education monitoring and evaluation policy, and family education responsibility sharing policy.

Eryong Xue, Changjiang Scholar (Young Scholar) of Ministry of Education, is Professor at the China Institute of Education and Social Development, Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University, where he also serves as Chief Scholar from the Ministry of Education for the key project ‘Research on Education Thoughts of President Xi Jinping.’ His research interests include education policy and law, comparative education policy, and equality of education. He has published over 160 articles, monographs, reports, and policy briefs in these areas.
Jian Li is Assistant Professor at the Institute of International and Comparative Education, Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University, China. She received her Ph.D. degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) from the School of Education, Indiana University Bloomington, the USA. Her research interests focus on education policy studies, globalization, and the internationalization of higher education. Dr Li also plays the role of a ‘think tanker’ at the China Institute of Education and Social Development, Beijing Normal University. She has published more than 100 papers in Chinese and English in multiple Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) indexed journals, such as Higher Education, International Journal of Education Research, Educational Philosophy and Theory, Educational Research, Comparative Education Research, and China Education Journal.
