Grandpas Red Suspenders is a short novelette of the memories a little child has of how much Grandpa loved his red suspenders, and because he loved them so much, the child tells of where and when Grandpa wore them.

The author had been a preschool teacher for seven years, whereupon she continued with her education to become an executive director. She built a beautiful nursery school serving sixty children from ages two weeks to twelve years of age. The young child has a short attention span; therefore, stories must be age-appropriate, short, and with subjects that will be of their interest. Knowing this, the author decided to write easy-to-follow children’s novelettes with lots of colorful pictures, making it more child-friendly.
One time, for two years in a row, the federal government rewarded two child development centers from each state a week’s all-inclusive vacation for two—one in Florida and, the following year, in California. Year after year, with no noncompliances on its chart, the author’s Play and Learn School (PALS) was recognized as being the best in both years and was awarded the very enjoyable vacations. When all the childcare providers arrived, they got a greeting as “crème de la crème”. That’s what they were—the cream of the cream!
The author had the best of both worlds—watching the areas children grow and develop by offering the much-needed quality care for the public and having her grandchildren being in her care, as well.
