It is a typical autumn day on a New England farm. The family sheepdog, Bolt, is in charge of tending the 9 sheep. One day a frisky lamb wanders off to a distant brook where a hungry wolf is waiting. Bolt senses danger and springs into action protecting the lamb and scaring off the predator wolf. The lamb and Bolt, the hero, return to the safety of the family farm.
"Outside the fence, and down the hill
A wolf was watching…silent…still.
The hungry wolf…a quiet stranger.
Lamb did not know…she was in danger."
