Qin Dahe is a well-known glaciologist and climatologist and is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an academician of the Third World Academy of Sciences. Since 2007 he has been Director of State Key Laboratory of Cryosphere Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the former Administrator of the China Meteorological Administration and the former Permanent Representative of China with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
