Christopher Morley was born on May 5th 1890. "The Haunted Bookshop" was published in 1919 and was his second novel. Suspenseful and set in Brooklyn around the time of the end of World War I. It continues the story of Roger Mifflin, the book seller in his first novel "Parnassus on Wheels". At first glance you’d be forgiven to think this was a novel of supernatural events but it refers to ‘The ghosts of literature’ those ghosts that haunt all bookstores. Its well worth sampling.
