Clive Coleman is a barrister turned BBC News Legal Correspondent and award-winning comedy writer. He studied English at York University before being called to the Bar in 1986. His television comedy credits include Spitting Image, Dead Ringers, and Chambers, his Radio 4 and BBC1 sitcom about barristers starring John Bird and Sarah Lancashire. Other radio credits include Weekending, The News Huddlines, and the sitcoms Hair In The Gate starring Alistair McGowan and Rebecca Front, and Spending My Inheritance starring Kris Marshall and Kenneth Cranham. He wrote the radio comedy Control Group 6 with Richard Bean and Andy Clifford. Coleman and Bean also collaborated on Great Britain for the National Theatre, directed by Nicholas Hytner. He has also been a Times columnist, and written for The Guardian and Independent.
