Work Disability in Canada: Portraits of a System aims to start a discussion—not just where we’re going, but where we’ve been. The book uses the power of personal narratives to educate and enlighten readers about people with disabilities in relation to experiences of living, working, employing and advocating for change. Readers will learn about the trials and tribulations of people struggling to find and maintain paid employment in the face of lifelong illness or other health issues. You will meet people working to create a systemic change from within and outside the system. You will meet advocates and employers finding creative solutions to connect jobseekers with employment opportunities.
