The new children’s book, The Magician’s Garden, from Canadian author and illustrator Graeme Bennett, conjures up a delightful story of a bumbling magician and his loyal assistant, who have to find just the right rabbit for a royal performance.
The story begins when a royal courier visits the old magic shop. It seems the king wants to see a magic show on his birthday. The magician decides he needs a rabbit to pull out of his top hat. As the amusing story unfolds, the magician sends his faithful apprentice on a hunt for a top hat-sized rabbit in the local pet store. Alas, all the bunnies there are too big or too small. Fortunately, there’s a rabbit living in the garden next to the magic shop, where the magician has been pouring out all his old magic potions. And it’s the perfect size!
