Mouhanad Khorchide ist Professor für islamische Religionspädagogik am Centrum für Religiöse Studien (CRS) und Leiter des Zentrums für Islamische Theologie (ZIT) an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität in Münster. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind moderne Zugänge zur Koranhermeneutik, die Konturierung einer Systematisch-Islamischen Theologie sowie der Islam in Europa. Er ist zusammen mit Clauß Peter Sajak und dem Comenius-Institut Gründer des Christlich-Islamischen Forum für Religionspädagogik Münster (CIFR) und engagiert sich dort für eine kooperative Aus- und Fortbildung von Religionslehrerinnen und -lehrern.
