Jimmy James, fighting a hard long battle of four years of homelessness, finally secured his housing and worked his way off all government assistance. He returned to one of the two shelters that took him in and became a night safety manager. Jimmy was nominated and won the Courage Award at the September 2014 Poverty Matters Conference for becoming self sufficient and working to help others find their way out of homelessness.
