John Maxwell Taylor is known internationally for his 20-character one-man play Forever Jung, based on the life of pioneering Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung. In 1996, Taylor received the prestigious Gradiva Award for Best Actor category for his portrayal of Jung from the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis in New York. His other theater works include Faustorama: The Metaphysical Musical and Crazy Wisdom, a musical on the life of Russian mystic and philosopher G. I. Gurdjieff. Taylor has also been influenced by the work of Paramahansa Yogananda and Taoist Master Mantak Chia.As a pioneering European rockstar in the “60s, Taylor’s bands opened for the Beatles and the Rolling Stones in Paris, and he performed for Queen Elizabeth on the Royal Variety Show at the London Palladium.
