Charity and Its Fruits is a religious book by Jonathan Edwards, American philosopher and theologian. The book presents a comprehensive analysis of I Corinthians 13 in which Edwards explicates what is charity, or Christian love. Edwards sees charity, or love as the central principle of Christianity and it can be understood as the Holy Spirit from within. He thinks profoundly about each aspect of the discourse on love, and his perceptions are sustained.

Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) was an American revivalist preacher, philosopher, and Congregationalist Protestant theologian. Like most of the Puritans, he held to the Reformed theology. Edwards is widely regarded as ‘one of America’s most important and original philosophical theologians’. Edwards’ theological work is broad in scope, but he was rooted in Reformed theology, the metaphysics of theological determinism, and the Puritan heritage.
